Saint Francis of Assisi mascot – A Saint to Hug

After all, the Little Poor Man of Assisi lived an extraordinary life. His journey through change, hardship and deep faith makes him feel especially close to our own struggles and worries. Moreover, his spiritual friendship with Saint Clare of Assisi and his beautiful Canticle of the Creatures, also known as the Canticle of Brother Sun, continue to inspire a life of gratitude, simplicity and love.

Saint Francis’s clothing reflected that same simplicity: a humble habit of coarse, undyed wool, in natural shades of grey and brown. Accordingly, this handcrafted doll celebrates the spirit of his poverty through a simple silhouette and an understated, dignified presence.

A Meaningful Keepsake for the Franciscan Jubilee

In 2026, the Franciscan Jubilee marks 800 years since the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. For this special occasion, a handmade saint doll brought directly from the Vatican is a meaningful keepsake. It is a thoughtful Catholic gift and a lasting reminder of a pilgrimage.

For us, that connection is deeply personal. We have already made our pilgrimage to Assisi, and seeing the earthly remains of St. Francis was profoundly moving. Therefore, this little Francis holds something of that memory: an invitation to pause, pray and carry a little of Assisi into everyday life.

Of course childreen can take them to the church. But their favorite environment is a home chapel. These saint plushies are a perfect fit for a simple, modern interior.
